We very much enjoyed our mini break to Mijas! Flew from East Mids. We got the train (€2) from Malaga airport to Malaga-Maria as we wanted to do the open top bus tour (€25pp), then back on the train in Malaga past the airport, to Fuengerola….. then an Über from Fuengerola train station to the hotel (€12). As we went to Malaga for the day straight off the train, & put our luggage in the “Stow Your Bags” facility around 3 mins walk from the Malaga-Maria train station. It cost €7 for 6hrs. The hotel was super friendly, clean & extremely well positioned. We even got a free upgrade & free tennis. Views from the rooms, breakfast room & bar are just incredible. Breakfast had so so much choice, including, most importantly, lactose free/almond milk & decaf options. We didn’t have dinner here as there were so so many different options around the town. Beach towel rent €15 then you get €14 back. Tennis rackets & balls €10. Late 2pm checkout €10 So cheap to eat & drink in the bars & restaurants. Spoil yourself at Restaurant Meguiñez. All staff were really friendly & chatty. Don’t miss out on the towns sights, but please don’t rent a donkey or horse….. We did the hike up the mountain, of which we did the blue & yellow route. It’s quite slippy as there has a lot of sandy parts, so wear decent shoes with deep tread. We were loosing our footing on the way down. Only negatives…. Two single beds, not a double & hairdryer not great. Fuengerola really wasn’t for us, we took the bus (stop right outside the hotel) for the afternoon, but found safety in the El Puerto Sky Bar with incredible views & a bottle of wine! Go to the Bio Park if anything.

This is our third time at this lovely traditional-style Andalucian Hotel tucked in the hills of Mijas Pueblo. The reason we keep returning comes down to the spectacular view over the Costa Del Sol, the warm friendly staff, and the location. We have always used the hotel as a base in order to explore the Provence of Malaga, and the city museums roughly 25 min in a car depending on traffic. 20 mins away in the opposite direction you can drive to Cala de Mijas, which has a wonderful coastline to explore by foot. We love Mijas Pueblo, there is an air of mysticism about it. Nature walks and Artisan stores what more can you ask for? There are local Buses from Mijas Pueblo to Fenguerolla and Malaga all information is readily available at the local Tourist office in Central Square. What a treat, escaping the cold of the Uk for a week and extending our stay within the hotel for another week as we watched the changes in the season which can only be described as a dramatic landscape of hills and ocean under a forever changing sky. In good weather, it's the perfect location for mountain bikers, hill walkers, equestrian lovers (stables within 20 minutes drive), and explorers who wish to escape colder climates to be inspired and refreshed. You could come here on your own read a book, write and switch off. The atmosphere is created by the international community that passes through on their travels and the staff that keep it warm and cozy.

The most accommodating , friendly, welcoming, polite staff at the Hotel from the moment we arrived and left at early hours of the morning. There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool area which was always kept clean and maintained. The bar was accommodating with drinks and food from about 10am. There was always a pool life guard (SOS on their t-shirt) There was a bar area which had beautiful views of the coast so sitting there with a drink was just perfect. We stayed on the 3rd floor which was very quiet and a perfect outstanding view of the coast and the mountains. The beds were really comfy , had extra covers if the air con got too cold! Which in fact the aircon was fab! Coffee and tea facilities and a fridge to keep your drinks cold! There was literally a supermarket opposite the Hotel and a very short walk ( about 5 mins) into the main square and hidden beautiful streets above.

Central location in beautiful Mijas. Very warm welcome on arrival and all staff were extremely hard working and friendly. They always had a smile and did their upmost to ensure we were well catered for. We were upgraded to a suite which was lovely, with a large lounge, bedroom and bathroom with double basin, bath and walk in shower. The room also had a small balcony overlooking the tennis courts. The breakfast choices of several types of fresh bread, cooked meats, cheese, cereal, yoghurts, jam, pastries and doughnuts were excellent. We enjoyed a quick swim in the lovely outdoor pool, a bit cold so early in the year, but staff told us there are plans to install solar heating. The poolside bar area and the lounge bar were both lovely.

The location, breakfast was a good variety and all nice. The pool was a bonus, others complain about it being dated, I see history, and it gives personality to the hole place, I loved the decor, however there is a part of the hotel that is renovated and has that feeling of new industrial hotel. The hotel is huge. Dinner was quite average, still ok but I'd recommend dinner in one of the many amazing restaurants in the village. Bed was comfortable, a/C could be a bit noisy but did not bother us.
